Royal Copenhagen Mega Dinner Plate #2 Designer About Royal Copenhagen: The Royal Danish Porcelain Manufactory, which later became Royal Copenhagen, was founded as the result of experiments by pharmacist Frantz Heinrich Mller (1738-1820), an expert chemist who created hard porcelain made from quartz, kaolin, and feldspar. Queen Dowager Juliane Marie and her son Frederik, heir to the throne, became partners with Mller in 1775. For almost a century, the Royal Danish Porcelain Manufactory was run.
