The Operetta bag by Boldrini Selleria is handmade in Tuscany where perfect craftsmanship has been passed down since 1955, when Scandiano Boldrini opened a small handbag workshop in the little town of Chiesina Uzzanese. The family-run shop upholds Scandiano’s tradition of creating leather products of outstanding quality and unique design to this day.
This style elevates the classic mezzaluna or half-moon shaped bag with its unique spiral body. The dark brown leather and gold hardware give the bag a vintage look, perfect for pairing with rustic cowboy boots and a sundress. The adjustable strap on this bag makes it easy to wear as a crossbody or shoulder bag, convenient and chic for running errands!
An ideal summer bag, the Perla bag by Roberto Pancani evokes scenes of picnics in the park and strolls along the beach. After working for their family business learning the labor-intensive production of straw bags, the Pancani brothers decided to launch Roberto Pancani in 2006 in Florence. The brothers continually strive to improve their heritage of woven bags, and since each piece is entirely handmade, no bag is exactly alike.
The inner lining has a drawstring closure to prevent small things from slipping out of the bag. Even with its luxurious looks, the bag is lightweight enough to carry around all day. Keep the rest of your outfit simple, like light wash jeans and a white button down, to let this bag really shine. Bonus points if you match your undershirt to the inner lining of the bag!
In the heart of Florence, master leather craftsman Leonardo keeps the Pelletteria Viviani workshop exactly as his grandfather Renato Viviani built it 64 years ago. The Sara bag was designed for Leonardo’s wife, a soft mini satchel just big enough to hold her necessities for a mid-day walk. This design elevates the mini bag trend with a modern silhouette, hand-stitched details, and an elegant bamboo handle.
There are six color options to choose from, but electric blue is the perfect pop of color against an all-white ensemble, a look made even better with a monochromatic blue blazer and mules.
Last but not least is the Mini Lady bag by Chiara Daverio, a young brand from Milan combining the best of classic Italian techniques with original, new styling. This embossed calfskin bag is a true work of art, epitomizing the irony, charm, and elegance that come together in each of Chiara’s incredibly stylish pieces.
The bright orange body and contrasting stitching coordinate beautifully with the paisley printed silk on the front flap and inner lining of the bag, creating a unique, yet wearable look. The trunk shaped bag is surprisingly roomy, just right for any occasion. Sophisticated yet bold, this bag is as beautifully complex as the woman who wears it.
So which of these gorgeous Italian creations would you choose? You really can’t go wrong with any of the high-quality, distinctive selections Mirta has to offer.
