CELEBRATING OUR INDEPENDENT BOUTIQUE COMMUNITY
At Atterley, we believe that boutique owners are the unsung heroes of the fashion world. Independents offer an authentic, memorable shopping experience unlike anything you'll find on the high street; the personable exchanges, the expert styling advice, the global mix of thoughtfully selected looks and labels. Before they are on the horizon for big box retailers, it's independent boutique owners, buyers and curators that are the first to discover and support emerging brands and new designers.
Which is why we’ve made it our mission to bring you the best of boutique style from the most stylish retail spaces around the world, shop-able all in one place, from device to doorstep. Offering an artful curation of fashion-forward, unique style finds, our talented Boutique Buyers are at the heart of what we do and forever the driving force behind Atterley.
And with years of experience behind them, our Atterley Boutiques are well-equipped to solve all your style dilemmas. Are you looking for a total wardrobe reboot or a specific look for a special occasion? A vast and varied selection of covetable, and inspiring looks and labels awaits you. If you're in any doubt, keep reading for a run-down of just what makes our boutiques – and their owners – so special...
Expert style insights
Ranging from Central Saint Martins graduates to ex-Vogue employees, our Boutique Buyers are a talented bunch. So they have their fingers on the pulse when it comes to spotting trends and predicting their customers' style needs. Season after season, these fashion trailblazers are out on the road, visiting trade shows in fashion capitals to uncover the latest must-have pieces and brands-to-know. “I instinctively know what my customers will love.” Deryane, owner of The Dressing Room, tells us.“We all thrive on styling looks for our ladies in store and online.”
Curated spaces
Unlike your average fast fashion store, every corner of a homegrown, bricks-and-mortar business has been lovingly thought through. From the look and feel of a space to the clothes that fill its rails, an independent boutique is the product of careful planning and curation. But this thinking has to happen quickly because, according to boutique owner Lorna Ruby, the business is ever-changing and evolving. “We are always striving to find the best brands out there and so this involves adapting our brand mix fairly often to ensure we have a consistently good offering.”
Personal touches
Each independent boutique comes with its own personality. This comes through in the building, its interiors, the brand mix on offer and, of course, the relationship with customers. For the owners at Accent Clothing, it's important to extend their warm, familial dynamic to visitors to their shop. “At our family-run boutique we aim to create a warm & social atmosphere, building rapport with our customers.” Every independent retailer has a different story, so shopping with them will always be a unique and memorable experience.
